Powerspeed Electrical Ltd, a leading provider of building materials in Zimbabwe, is proud to announce the opening of its new timber factory through its Electrosales Timber Division. Located at 1 Aberdeen Road, Nyakamete Industrial Area, Mutare, this significant investment underscores Powerspeeds’ commitment to regional growth and the provision of high-quality timber products to the Zimbabwean market.
The factory, which commenced operations on the 11th of March, occupies a substantial 36,042 sqm site, with a factory footprint of 15,226 sqm. This expansive facility is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, including a finger jointing machine, edge banding machine, moulder/planner, crosscut machine, and panel saw, enabling the production of a diverse range of timber products.
This investment not only enhances Electrosales timber production capabilities but also creates valuable employment opportunities within the region. The factory employs a dedicated team of 35 professionals, comprising management, customer service representatives and skilled machinists, ensuring efficient operations and superior customer service.
Electrosales Timber has established strong partnerships with key industry players, including Allied Timbers, Rockpool, Masanga Timbers, Wattle Company, Eastern Investments (waste management), and CICADA Timbers. These collaborations ensure a reliable supply of high-quality raw materials and facilitate seamless distribution of finished products.
Powerspeed Electrical Ltd is committed to sustainable practices and has implemented a zero-waste policy at the new facility. Wood shavings generated from the planned timber are provided to Eastern Investments, which supplies them to individuals and companies involved in livestock farming, such as broiler and horse farming. This initiative minimises waste and supports the agricultural sector.
